Natalie Portman, 45, has welcomed her third child, her first with French partner Tanguy Destable. The child was born last month in Paris, according to a source who spoke with People magazine on Saturday.

Portman and Destable, a 46-year-old musician and music producer, are reportedly "very excited" about the new arrival. Portman announced her pregnancy in April, telling Harper's Bazaar at the time, "I'm just very grateful. I know it's such a privilege and a miracle."

Portman, whose mother was a fertility doctor, has spoken about the difficulties some face with conception. "I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant," she said. "I have so many people I love who've had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well. It's such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it's also not an easy thing."

She added, "And so I know how lucky it is. I'm very aware, and I'm very grateful. I have deep appreciation and gratitude."

Portman, who was previously married to choreographer Benjamin Millepied, has two older children: 15-year-old son Aleph and 9-year-old daughter Amalia. The couple finalized their divorce in 2024.

Portman and Destable were first linked in March of the previous year. Destable is also known by the stage name DEPR, creating electronic dance and techno music.

The actress has maintained a private personal life, particularly concerning her children. Her last public appearance was in January at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, where she attended an event with Jenna Ortega and Charli XCX. She has previously expressed a desire for privacy, stating, "if you tell people how private you are, your privacy gets respected a lot more."

Portman has spoken about cherishing her current life and the calm she feels living in Paris. "There is a gratitude that when you're young, you don't necessarily grasp," she told Harper's Bazaar. "And there's a calm and knowing myself: who I want to spend time with, what kind of energy I want around me that makes the experience so beautiful every day. And knowing it's probably the last time, I cherish every moment."

She also noted feeling good during her pregnancy, with more energy than expected, and maintained her fitness through swimming and Gyrotonic exercises. Portman has prioritized spending time with her children, emphasizing that seeing them develop into their own individuals is a constant source of excitement.
