Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber Support Daughter Kai at NYFW
The former couple attended the Thom Browne show to cheer on their daughter, who recently won Breakthrough Model of the Year.
Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber reunited to support their daughter, Kai Schreiber, at Thom Browne's spring 2027 show during New York Fashion Week. The appearance followed a week of celebrations for Kai, who also received the Breakthrough Model of the Year award at the Daily Front Row's Fashion Media Awards.
Watts and Schreiber, who separated in 2016, were seen sitting front row at the Thom Browne event. Kai, 17, walked the runway in one of the designer's butterfly-themed ensembles. The young model previously opened NYFW last September for Jason Wu's spring 2026 collection and has walked for other notable designers like Jean Paul Gaultier, Fendi, and Celine.
Earlier in the week, Kai was honored with the Breakthrough Model of the Year award, becoming the first transgender model to receive the accolade. In her acceptance speech, Kai thanked her parents for their "unconditional support and devotion to making me happy and making my dreams come true." Watts, in a social media tribute, expressed pride in her daughter's "extraordinary love of fashion" and the community that embraces her.
This joint appearance marks another instance of the former couple supporting their children. They also share a 19-year-old son, Sasha Schreiber. Both Watts and Schreiber have remarried; Watts to Billy Crudup in 2023 and Schreiber to Taylor Neisen in the same year.
Kai Schreiber made a notable runway debut in March 2025 at Alessandro Michele’s fall 2025 Valentino show in Paris. She has since appeared in a joint campaign with her mother for Simkhai's fall 2026 collection. Schreiber has previously spoken about supporting his daughter's identity, telling Variety, "Kai was always who Kai is."
