Country music singer Morgan Wallen experienced two notable incidents during a recent performance at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. While greeting fans offstage, Wallen twisted his left ankle, an injury he later shared via Instagram Stories showing his ankle bent at a sharp angle while still in his sneaker. He was seen hobbling after the fall but was able to continue his show.
Wallen acknowledged the injury on Saturday, stating to the audience, "Michigan, if I appear somewhat hobbled tonight, it’s cause I am." Despite the pain, he completed the performance without apparent significant issues.
In addition to the ankle injury, Wallen was struck by a cell phone thrown by an audience member during the same concert. Video footage captured the moment the phone appeared to hit him in the leg as he was singing. Wallen paused his performance and appeared to glare toward the person who threw the device.
This is not the first time Wallen has had an incident involving a thrown phone at one of his concerts. Last month, he was seen on video taking a security guard's cell phone and throwing it across the stage during a show in Pittsburgh. The guard had been recording him perform.
Earlier that same month, during a concert in Denver, Wallen experienced an on-stage issue when his piano appeared to malfunction while he was singing "Sand in My Boots." He finished the song a cappella before returning to the piano, pushing it, and flipping it over, causing it to break.
Wallen is currently on his Still the Problem Tour, which is scheduled to conclude on August 1 in Philadelphia.
