Mike D, a member of the seminal hip-hop group Beastie Boys, has announced a forthcoming solo tour in support of his debut album, "Thank You," scheduled for release on August 28. The tour will include a single New York City performance at the Knockdown Center in Queens on September 9.

In addition to the New York show, the tour will encompass five East Coast club dates and an appearance at the Portola Music Festival in San Francisco on September 26. The festival lineup features artists such as Robyn, Swedish House Mafia, and Fatboy Slim.

This solo venture follows a series of performances Mike D has undertaken across the U.S. and internationally. In late May, he performed two shows at Brooklyn’s Xanadu Roller Arts, featuring a mix of Beastie Boys classics like "Hello Brooklyn" and "So What’cha Want," alongside new material from "Thank You," including "What We Got" and "Switch Up."

Mike D’s backing band for these performances is named 5D and includes guitarist Will Graefe, Eddie Ruscha on drum machine and synths, guitarist Milo Ruscha, and vocalists Skyler Diamond and Davis Diamond. Reviews of his recent shows have noted a blend of his established sound with new, experimental elements.

Tickets for the general public go on sale June 26 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster, with pre-sale options available on secondary market sites. A discount code, NYPOST10, is offered for first-time SeatGeek purchasers on orders over $250.

The album "Thank You" has already seen the release of three singles: "Switch Up," "What We Got," and "True Colors," each offering a distinct sonic landscape that blends hip-hop with influences ranging from trip-hop to psychedelic rock and 1960s experimental music.
