A recent study indicates that a significant portion of men secretly enjoy watching romantic films, often referred to as 'chick flicks.' According to a poll commissioned by Netflix, at least a quarter of men in relationships confess to enjoying these movies, despite potential public reticence.

The study, which surveyed 2,000 men, found 'Pretty Woman' to be the most favored romance film among respondents. The 'Twilight Saga' also ranked highly, alongside titles such as 'Mamma Mia,' 'Mean Girls,' and 'Miss Congeniality.' Other films mentioned on men's lists of 'guilty pleasure watches' include 'Sleepless in Seattle,' 'When Harry Met Sally,' 'The Devil Wears Prada,' 'Moulin Rouge,' and 'Legally Blonde.'

Beyond simply watching, 10 percent of men reported engaging in self-care activities like applying face masks or receiving pedicures while viewing these films with their partners. The research also revealed that 10 percent of men admitted to crying during romantic movies.

The poll was conducted by Netflix to coincide with the release of the complete 'Twilight Saga' on the streaming platform in the UK. The study further suggested that couples who watch approximately four films together per week report stronger relationships, with activities like foot rubs, snack sharing, and holding hands contributing to their bonding. This shared viewing experience is seen by 90 percent of those surveyed as a way to strengthen their relationships.
