Melanie C, also known as Sporty Spice, married long-term partner Chris Dingwall on Saturday in a ceremony held at the Country House Cumbria in the Lake District.

The 52-year-old singer wore a backless satin wedding gown designed by her former Spice Girls bandmate, Victoria Beckham. The dress featured spaghetti straps and accentuated C's athletic figure, also showcasing her back tattoos. C's daughter, Scarlett, 17, served as a bridesmaid.

Fellow Spice Girls members Geri Halliwell-Horner, Emma Bunton, and Mel B were in attendance. Victoria Beckham was unable to join the celebration as she was in the United States for the World Cup. A source close to Beckham stated that designing the dress was a "great pleasure" and that she wished C well from afar.

The wedding took place in an intimate setting, which C and Dingwall had reportedly desired. According to guests, the ceremony was "perfect," despite a brief interruption when a herd of cows from a nearby farm approached the venue during the vows.

Melanie C met Dingwall, an Australian model and writer, in 2023 via the dating app Raya. She has previously spoken about her reluctance towards marriage, influenced in part by her past experiences with loneliness and depression during her time with the Spice Girls. In a 2022 memoir, she detailed her struggles with depression, binge drinking, and binge eating following the group's split in 2000. She also reflected on feeling left behind as other band members entered long-term relationships during the height of their fame in the late 1990s.
