Maya Jama has revealed the personal significance of an Arabic tattoo on her thigh, which she received at the age of 15. The "Love Island" presenter shared that the inking, located near her bikini line, is a reflection of her life philosophy.

"Mine says in Arabic, 'Love like you've never been hurt and dance like nobody's watching,'" Jama told The Sun. "And I feel like I've lived by that. Two things I do!"

Jama, 31, also mentioned that many of her tattoos are discreet, only visible when she is wearing swimwear. She recalled getting the thigh tattoo with friends at a woman's house in Bristol, acknowledging that the tattoo artist was likely not licensed and the act was not legal at the time.

Her comments come after fans noted her absence from recent episodes of "Love Island." Jama addressed the speculation on Instagram, jokingly captioning a photo of her outfit, "I heard you missed me..."

She confirmed her return to the villa in scenes that aired on Sunday night, four weeks after her previous appearance. Jama had previously responded to fan inquiries about her whereabouts, assuring them on X, formerly Twitter, that she would be back soon and had been eager to return.

The Love Island star, 31, admitted she has many secret inkings that are only visible when she's not covered up

Prior to her return to the reality show, Jama attended the Bad Bunny concert at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. She shared video footage of her arrival via private jet and her quick change of clothes in the car before heading to the event. She later appeared on stage with Bad Bunny.
