Maya Jama, known for hosting ITV's "Love Island," may be poised for an expanded role in Netflix's popular series "The Gentlemen." Producers are reportedly keen to sign the presenter for a third season of the show following her brief but impressive appearance in its upcoming second season. Jama has a small role in the second season, which is set to release in September.

Her involvement in the series marks a potential expansion of her career across the Atlantic, with sources suggesting her part could lead to global stardom. Jama recently traveled to New York for promotional appearances, signaling her ambition to break into the U.S. market. "The Gentlemen is set to be a huge stepping stone for Maya, who delivers a rather impressive performance despite not having a major part," a source told The Sun. "But that could all be about to change as they eye her up for another series of the show, which is already one of Netflix’s biggest hits of recent years."

The series, based on Guy Ritchie's 2019 film, follows Eddie Halstead, played by Theo James, as he navigates his father's criminal empire. The second season picks up a year after Eddie and Susie Glass, portrayed by Kaya Scodelario, joined forces. The show is known for its blend of car chases, violence, and glamour, with the second season reportedly aiming to be "bigger, darker" while retaining its comedic elements. Hugh Bonneville of "Downton Abbey" also joins the cast for the new season in a role that is said to be pivotal.

Jama's potential for a larger role comes as she is set to conclude filming on her ninth series of "Love Island." She hosted the live final of the show from Mallorca. Her on-screen presence in "The Gentlemen" has already garnered attention, with a brief glimpse of her character appearing in the season two trailer, sharing a line with James's character. Jama herself expressed excitement on Instagram, writing, "It's cominggggggg, gassed seeing my little head in the trailer."
