Mariska Hargitay, known for her role as Olivia Benson in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," is set to host the 2026 Emmy Awards, with nominations revealed on Wednesday.

"The Pitt" led the nominations, followed by "Hacks" and newcomer "Widow's Bay." However, the announcement also highlighted several notable snubs, with prominent actors like Jeremy Allen White, Paul Anthony Kelly, and Sydney Sweeney not receiving nominations.

To be eligible for consideration, shows must have aired between June 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026. This year's nominations come as several popular shows, including "Euphoria," "Stranger Things," and "Hacks," have had their final seasons.

Sydney Sweeney, who garnered an Emmy nomination for her performance in "Euphoria" Season 2, was overlooked for her role in the show's third and final season. Despite a headline-grabbing performance, her co-stars Zendaya and Colman Domingo did receive nominations.

Paul Anthony Kelly, recognized for his portrayal of John F. Kennedy Jr. in the FX series "Love Story: Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette," also failed to secure a nomination, despite the show itself receiving a nod for best limited or anthology series. His co-star Sarah Pidgeon did earn a nomination.

"The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins," an NBC comedy starring Daniel Radcliffe and Tracy Morgan, was shut out in its first year of eligibility. The mockumentary, which follows a disgraced football star's comeback, received positive reviews and featured acclaimed talent, but did not translate into Emmy recognition.

Richard Gadd, the creator and star of "Baby Reindeer," also saw his second HBO limited series, "Half Man," largely ignored. While Gadd earned a supporting actor nomination for the series, the show itself did not receive a nomination for best limited series, and co-star Jamie Bell was also left out.

Jeremy Allen White, a three-time nominee and two-time winner for "The Bear," was not nominated this year, even as the show received a best comedy series nomination and his co-star Ayo Edebiri earned a best actress in a comedy series nod. White was reportedly edged out by new additions to the category, including Steve Carell for "Rooster," Matthew Rhys for "Widow's Bay," and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II for "Wonder Man."

Ethan Hawke also missed out on a nomination for his performance in the critically acclaimed FX series "The Lowdown," in what was a competitive year for lead actor in a comedy.

On the surprise side, Jason Bateman received a nomination for lead actor in a limited or anthology series or movie for his Netflix crime drama "Black Rabbit." He also earned a supporting actor nomination for his role in HBO's "DTF St. Louis." Despite a lack of critical buzz, "Black Rabbit" was recognized by the Emmys, though co-star Jude Law was not nominated.

Connor Storrie, the breakout star of the Canadian hockey romance series "Heated Rivalry," earned a surprise nomination for guest actor in a comedy series for hosting "Saturday Night Live." Storrie was not eligible for his role in "Heated Rivalry" as the series is from a Canadian media company.

The 2026 Emmy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sept. 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and will air on NBC at 8 p.m. ET.
