Madonna celebrated her 68th birthday with a family gathering in Greece, joined by five of her six children. The festivities coincided with the announcement of the MTV Video Music Awards nominations, where the artist secured a leading 11 nods.

Among those present were daughters Lourdes Leon, 29, Mercy James, 20, and twins Stella and Estere, 13, along with son Rocco Ritchie, 26. Madonna's partner, Akeem Morris, 30, also attended. Her son David Banda, 20, was not pictured in the family snapshot.

The singer shared moments from the celebration, captioning a series of photos and videos with "It's My Birthday! Eat, Pray, Love,Drink, Dance, Break plates, Feed Cats!! Thank you G*D!". She wore multiple outfits during the celebration, including a Dolce & Gabbana dress and a sheer white ensemble.

Lourdes, whose father is Carlos Leon, and Rocco, whose father is director Guy Ritchie, were featured engaging in traditional Greek dancing. Madonna's latest album, "Confessions II," was also mentioned, as she received nominations for video of the year for "Confessions II (The Film)" at the VMAs.

"Confessions II" includes a duet with Lourdes titled "The Test," which explores the mother-daughter relationship. The song touches on Madonna's past efforts to guide her daughter and Lourdes' desire for independence. In past interviews, Lourdes has spoken about her relationship with her mother, describing her as a "control freak" and discussing her efforts to achieve financial independence.

Madonna has previously praised Lourdes' talent but noted a difference in drive between them. Lourdes has since pursued a career in modeling and music.
