Madonna has released a new song titled "Bizarre" that appears to reference her tumultuous past marriage to actor Sean Penn. The track, part of her upcoming "Confessions II," features lyrics suggesting a relationship with a Hollywood star who felt threatened by her fame.

"He drove way too fast / Shelby Cobra, wasn’t meant to last," Madonna sings, a line many interpret as a nod to a Shelby Cobra sports car she was rumored to have gifted Penn during their marriage, which lasted from 1985 to 1989. Penn himself previously owned a Shelby Cobra and auctioned a Shelby Mustang in 2018.

The lyrics also include, "Roll out the carpet for us but you won’t share it / I guess you’re threatened by me, you won’t admit it," which some have interpreted as reflecting Penn's alleged discomfort with Madonna's global stardom.

Madonna, 67, continues, "The little things that you did that madе me want you / The fire was so intеnse." She further explores themes of emptiness and temptation in the song, singing, "Now you’re gone, I feel so empty Why do you tempt me?" and "I know I left you behind and you resent me / A thousand reasons why you could never have me / The thought of being with you is so indecent."

Despite the song's pointed lyrics, Madonna and Penn have maintained an amicable relationship over the years. In a 2015 sworn statement, Madonna defended Penn against abuse allegations, stating, "Sean has never struck me, ‘tied me up,’ or physically assaulted me." She has referred to him as a "caring, compassionate individual."

The former couple has occasionally fueled romance rumors, notably when they were seen holding hands at the Help Haiti Home gala in 2016. Madonna was previously married to Guy Ritchie, with whom she shares two children, and has four other children.

Representatives for Madonna and Penn did not immediately comment on the song's lyrics.
