Love Island contestants Lola and Sean were eliminated from the villa on Sunday night's episode after being voted one of the public's least favorite couples. Their departure followed a series of arguments, particularly with fellow islander Julia.
Sean, an Irish rugby player, and Lola, a police detective, coupled up early in the series and expressed their affections for each other within weeks, establishing themselves as a strong pairing. However, a recent public vote placed them among the bottom three least favorite couples, alongside Samraj and Mica, and Martha and Jordan.
While the favorite couple, Julia and Lorenzo, were initially given the power to decide which couple to dump, Lola and Sean opted to leave the villa on their own accord. They informed Lorenzo that they had found each other and were happy with their journey, suggesting the other couples still had more to experience in the villa.
Their exit came after tensions escalated, especially following Sean's time in Casa Amor. Julia had expressed reservations about Sean's desire for a "test" in the second villa to validate his connection with Lola. In response, Lola referred to Julia as a "bitch" during confrontations at the firepit. Viewers on social media platform X commented on Lola's behavior, with some describing it as "mean girl behavior" and suggesting jealousy towards Julia.
Speaking after their departure, Lola described their exit as a "perfect end to our journey." She emphasized their happiness at having found each other and their contentment with their time in the villa. Lola stated that they had "found love" and had "nothing more" they needed from the experience, adding that they felt it was right to take the burden off Lorenzo, who had previously struggled with a dumping decision.
Lola recounted how she was attracted to Sean from day one, despite initially coupling up with him without extensive conversation. She noted that after their first proper conversation in bed, she felt a strong connection and was "excited to get back into bed with him" that night. By the next day, they were "basically exclusive."
