Lily Allen was seen carrying a leopard print Prada handbag valued at £2,600 during an outing in New York City on Monday. The appearance comes after the British singer, 41, revealed she has been undergoing therapy to address a shopping addiction.
Allen was seen in casual attire, wearing low-rise jeans and a graphic T-shirt, while walking in New York. The designer accessory adds to a string of high-value purchases she has made, despite seeking treatment for what she described as "shopping like an insane person."
In a notable shopping spree in Atlanta earlier this year, Allen reportedly spent $50,000 (£36,896) on diamond jewelry. The purchase included a $15,000 tennis bracelet, $25,000 earrings, and a $20,000 gift for a friend. She allegedly paid for these items with large sums of cash, which she carried in a £14,000 Hermès Birkin handbag. Another Hermès Birkin bag, valued at $33,000, is also part of her collection.
The sales associate handling the Atlanta transaction reportedly stated that Allen's total came to $54,450 with taxes, but accepted $50,000 as that was the amount she had in cash. A social media post from the store indicated that Allen spent $50,000 cash on diamonds before her Atlanta show for the "West End Girl" tour.
Allen disclosed in December of the previous year that she was receiving treatment for her spending habits. She has been undergoing eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for approximately four months to manage these behaviors. According to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, EMDR therapy is a technique used to help individuals recover from past experiences that affect their mental health, utilizing eye movements and talk therapy to process negative emotions and memories.
The singer's return to music after a seven-year hiatus was marked by her latest album, which was recorded in ten days. This period followed her separation from ex-husband David Harbour in December 2024.
