Liam Hemsworth and model Gabriella Brooks have confirmed their engagement after Brooks posted images on Instagram showing a large diamond ring.

Brooks, who shared the post on Friday, included a black-and-white photo of the couple together, a tranquil seascape and a close-up of the glittering engagement ring. She captioned the post with a white heart emoji and re-shared it to her Instagram Story for her roughly 202,000 followers. Hemsworth, 35, had not posted the announcement as of Friday.

The engagement follows weeks of speculation. Rumors first intensified when Brooks was photographed in Ibiza walking along a yacht dock wearing a large ring on her left hand, paired with a short yellow dress and no shoes; Hemsworth was also seen on the outing. Those images prompted public interest in the pair’s status ahead of Brooks’ Instagram confirmation.

The couple were first publicly linked in December 2019 after being seen having lunch with Hemsworth’s parents in Byron Bay, Australia, a sighting that came after Hemsworth’s divorce from Miley Cyrus, who filed for divorce in August 2019. The two continued to appear together publicly, including a January 2020 outing in Australia. In August 2022, tabloid reports suggested the pair had split amid work commitments, but they reappeared together on the red carpet in November of that year, making what outlets described as an official public debut.

Brooks has modeled internationally and was previously in a four-year relationship with Matty Healy, frontman of The 1975; Healy is now engaged to model Gabbriette Bechtel. Hemsworth rose to prominence for roles in films including The Hunger Games franchise and The Last Song.

Details such as a wedding date or plans have not been released. Neither Hemsworth nor a representative for Brooks immediately responded to requests for comment. The Instagram post is the first public confirmation from the couple themselves.
