Damian Lewis, Brendan Fraser, and Andrew Scott gathered in London for the premiere of their new World War II drama, "Pressure." The film, which focuses on the critical 72 hours leading up to D-Day, held its premiere Tuesday night at the Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square.
Lewis, 55, who portrays Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery in the film, opted for a striking tartan tuxedo and dark sunglasses. He posed alongside co-stars Fraser, 57, and Scott, 49, on the blue carpet. Fraser, stepping into the role of Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower, appeared fit and healthy. Scott plays Royal Air Force meteorologist James Stagg.
"Pressure" centers on Eisenhower's anxiety following the failed Exercise Tiger and his reliance on Stagg's weather predictions to determine the optimal time for the Normandy landings. The trailer highlights the tension between meteorological forecasts and military decision-making, with Montgomery emphasizing the dire consequences of delay or cancellation.
"This is the largest seaborne invasion in history. The fate of the war, thousands of lives hinge on this," Eisenhower says in a dramatic moment, pressing Stagg for a forecast. The film also features Kerry Condon as Eisenhower's wartime secretary Kay Summersby and Chris Messina as American meteorologist Irving P. Krick, who clashed with Stagg over the weather outlook.
The movie, directed by Anthony Maras and co-written by David Haig based on Haig's 2014 stage show, was released in the U.S. on May 29 and is scheduled for a UK cinema release on September 11. "Pressure" is another step in Fraser's ongoing Hollywood comeback, following his acclaimed performance in "The Whale."
