Lauren Sánchez joined a roster of celebrities and models at a Chanel event in New York on Wednesday, attending the launch of Sofia Coppola’s new book on the fashion house’s haute couture. The event at Doubles Club showcased a 450-page volume that chronicles Chanel’s couture eras through unseen sketches, archival photographs and runway imagery.

Sánchez, 55, arrived in a strappy white top paired with a sheer black skirt. Singer Gracie Abrams, 26, and Nicole Kidman’s daughter Sunday Rose, 17, were also among the attendees, each wearing looks that referenced Chanel’s aesthetic. Gracie Abrams appeared in a tiny black bralette, low-waisted black trousers and a red-lined blazer; Sunday Rose wore a sheer black top and satin trousers.

The book, described by the publisher as a bespoke visual history of Chanel’s haute couture, spans the work of Gabrielle Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard, and includes photographs of clients and models from different periods. Coppola, who interned at the Chanel studio in Paris as a teenager, used collage and assemblage in the volume to present archival material and unseen studio images.

Sunday Rose has been building a profile in modelling; she made her runway debut in October 2024 as part of Miu Miu’s Paris Womenswear Spring-Summer 2025 show and recently appeared in an advertisement for Swiss watchmaker Omega, a brand long associated with her mother. At the Chanel event she posed for photographs alongside peers including Romy Mars, 18.

Other attendees included actresses and long-time Chanel collaborators. Iman, 70, wore head-to-toe Chanel, and Kirsten Dunst, 43, appeared in a thigh-high split velour skirt and a strappy top.

Sánchez, who gained prominence as a television entertainment reporter and news anchor, married Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, 61, in June in Venice. The couple’s wedding was widely reported at the time. Sánchez has also been involved in ongoing legal proceedings with her estranged brother, Michael Sanchez; the pair have sought $190,000 in legal fees related to a four-year lawsuit alleging he attempted to leak private images of the couple.

The book launch reflects Chanel’s long-standing relationships with filmmakers and creatives. Coppola’s approach to the tome draws on her longstanding association with the house, beginning with her summer internship and continuing through decades of collaborations and friendships that have linked her to the brand’s archival material and client histories.

The event underscored the intersection of contemporary celebrity culture and heritage fashion houses, bringing together emerging models, musicians and established actresses to mark a publication intended as a definitive guide to Chanel’s haute couture output.
