Kelly Osbourne has spoken about the immense grief she experienced after the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, in July 2025, describing it as "the hardest year of my life." Osbourne, 41, revealed that she was "so sick" during that period and has been undergoing therapy to help her cope.
In an interview with Britain's HELLO! magazine, Osbourne addressed the "cruel" body-shaming she faced regarding her weight loss in the months following her father's death. She stated that she was "not well" and unable to navigate such criticism while grieving. "How can you navigate something so cruel when you're so sick?" she asked. Osbourne is now "getting a lot better" and expressed gratitude for the support system she has built, including an "incredible team of people" who have remained by her side.
"What you'll find when you're grieving is that people don't know how to handle it, and you do lose a lot of friends," Osbourne noted. "But the ones who stick around are the real ones."
Osbourne believes that "a part of" herself died with her father, and she will never be the same. "Everything is different. I'm different. Everything has changed, but it's just taking it one day at a time and putting the pieces back together in a way that you think will work," she said.
She also reflected on the "lifetime of work" she has ahead of her in terms of personal healing, emphasizing the helpfulness of therapy. "You've got to fix the head before you can fix the body. It's a slow process. It's going to take me a minute," she explained. Therapy has allowed her to discover aspects of herself and understand childhood influences that have shaped her behavior. "It's great discovering things about yourself [in therapy], and the reasons why I do certain things that stem from my childhood... I'm getting to know myself in a whole new way, but it's a lot more healthy, I can tell you that."
Earlier this year, Osbourne separated from Sid Wilson, with whom she shares her three-year-old son, Sydney.
