Katie Price arrived more than two hours late to a show with Kerry Katona at Whitley Bay Playhouse on Monday night, leaving her co‑star to perform alone for an extended period and prompting complaints from audience members about sound problems.
Organisers had initially pushed the start time back from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. citing "technical difficulties," but an attendee told the Daily Mail Price was still not present when the event began and that Katona continued the show solo until Price finally appeared. The onlooker quoted Price as saying after taking the stage: "S**t happened sorry. At least no one died!"
The pair are touring with the show An Evening with Katie Price & Kerry Katona. Attendees reported further issues during Monday's performance, with some saying they could not hear clearly due to sound problems. Chronicle Live reported that the finale saw Katona sing the Atomic Kitten hit "Whole Again," but she admitted during the chorus, "I always forget this bit," before mumbling and allowing the audience to sing along while she picked the song back up.
The Whitley Bay incident follows a separate disruption on Sept. 7 at the Floral Pavilion theatre in New Brighton, where a section of the audience was removed for what police described as "drunken and disruptive behaviour." Merseyside Police said they received a report shortly before 9:10 p.m. from theatre security that several females had been asked to leave, refused to do so and had been verbally abusive to staff, and that enquiries into the matter were ongoing.
A Floral Pavilion spokesperson said the second part of that night's show was briefly delayed "due to disruptive behaviour from a small number of audience members," and thanked officers who assisted staff in removing them. Price apologised to the audience at the time for the half‑hour delay between acts and said the duo had been watching events unfold on a backstage monitor. After the disturbance, the show resumed and concluded with Katona performing "Whole Again."
Monday's performance at Whitley Bay Playhouse drew a mixture of frustration and applause from the audience as the pair continued their scheduled set despite the delays and technical problems. Organisers did not provide an onstage explanation beyond the earlier notice of technical issues.
Representatives for Price and Whitley Bay Playhouse were contacted for comment. The tour, which features the former glamour model and the former Atomic Kitten singer, has continued to draw attention both for its content and for a string of on‑site disruptions and logistical problems reported at recent dates.
