Kate Hudson is reportedly set to produce a sequel to the 2003 romantic comedy "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," with speculation that her co-star Matthew McConaughey may also return. The film, which grossed nearly $180 million worldwide at the box office, is remembered for its iconic fashion moments, including the yellow silk Carolina Herrera dress worn by Hudson.

Hudson's recent acting credits include "Song Sung Blue" in 2025, which earned her an Oscar nomination, her second after an earlier nod for "Almost Famous" in 2001. McConaughey's filmography includes "Dallas Buyers Club," for which he won an Oscar in 2014, "The Wedding Planner," and "Magic Mike." He and Hudson also appeared together in "Fool's Gold" in 2008.

McConaughey previously spoke to People magazine in 2024 about his initial chemistry with Hudson. He described their first meeting as comfortable, filled with mutual teasing and laughter, suggesting a dynamic that contributed to the film's success. "There was a bit of rock and roll exchange, like, 'Oh, this could be some heavyweight fun,'" he recalled.

The potential sequel aligns with a broader trend in Hollywood of producing follow-up films to beloved older movies, such as "The Devil Wears Prada 2," which arrived two decades after the original.

Representatives for both Hudson and McConaughey have been contacted for comment regarding the potential sequel.
