Kate Garraway, known for her role on Good Morning Britain, has stated she would permit her 20-year-old daughter, Darcey, to join the cast of the reality dating show Love Island. Garraway also admitted that she herself would be open to appearing on the show.

"I'd love to do Love Island but I'm not really bikini ready," Garraway told the Daily Mail. "I would let Darcey do Love Island, absolutely, but she says she would never do it!"

Love Island is a popular dating program known for its challenges, intimate discussions among contestants, and shared sleeping arrangements. Garraway’s comments come as she reflects on personal experiences, including her daughter's transition to university and her own participation in Celebrity Traitors.

Recounting a difficult moment from Celebrity Traitors, Garraway mentioned her daughter's reaction to her on-screen interactions. "My daughter had just started uni and the very first roundtable with me and Nico," she explained. "She was like 'Oh my god mum what have you done to me, all my friends are saying if Nico goes, I'm going to kill your mum!'"

Garraway is also navigating a new personal chapter following the death of her husband, Derek Draper, in 2024 due to heart complications linked to Long Covid. She is mother to Darcey, 20, and William, 16.

Earlier this year, Garraway discussed the emotional challenges of dropping Darcey off at university, particularly the absence of her late husband. She described the experience as incredibly emotional, noting the contrast with other students who had both parents present to assist with the move. "It was a very conscious feeling when you're watching the parents all carrying the boxes in," she recalled. "And instead I just felt sort of cross that he wasn't there."

Garraway also touched upon her new relationship with Liam Halligan, a British broadcaster and economist, stating that people have been "sweet about it."
