Justin Baldoni has spoken publicly for the first time since settling a legal dispute with actress Blake Lively. In an Instagram video posted Wednesday, Baldoni and his wife, Emily, shared their feelings of "immense gratitude" following the resolution of the legal challenges.
"Gratitude has saved us," Justin Baldoni stated in the video. His wife added that while they are grateful, the outcome "did not negate the injustice and pain" they experienced over the past few years. She also questioned how such a situation could occur, particularly one that "disguise[d] as a fight for women."
"We just wanted to let the justice system run its course," Justin Baldoni said, with his wife adding, "And the truth and facts have spoken for themselves."
The settlement between Baldoni and Lively, 38, was reached on May 4, approximately two weeks before their case was scheduled to go to trial. The legal battle stemmed from their film "It Ends With Us."
This resolution came about a month after a judge dismissed 10 of the 13 claims Lively had brought forward, including an allegation of sexual harassment against Baldoni. In a joint statement to Page Six, both parties indicated pride in the film "It Ends With Us" and reiterated their commitment to raising awareness for domestic violence survivors and all survivors.
"We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard," their statement read. They also affirmed their dedication to maintaining workplaces "free of improprieties and unproductive environments" and expressed hope for a peaceful and constructive resolution for all involved.
Sources told Page Six that neither Lively nor Baldoni received any money in the settlement. However, their respective legal teams reportedly earned a combined $60 million from the lawsuits and countersuits.
Following the settlement, Lively attended the 2026 Met Gala. Baldoni and his wife were also observed in good spirits, holding hands while visiting a market in Nashville, Tennessee, shortly after the legal matter was resolved.
