Justin Baldoni has publicly addressed the dispute with Blake Lively that originated on the set of their 2024 film, "It Ends With Us." The legal battle, which involved accusations of sexual harassment, defamation, and extortion, was settled in May after a judge dismissed most of Lively's claims and Baldoni's lawsuit.
In a recent Instagram video, Baldoni and his wife, Emily Baldoni, shared their perspective on the situation, stating they felt it was finally the right time to speak. "The injustice and the pain that we have also felt in the last few years," Emily Baldoni said, explaining their silence for the past two years was not due to a lack of things to say, but a feeling that the timing was never quite right.
Emily Baldoni described wrestling with how such a situation could occur, especially if it was "disguised as a fight for women." She characterized the experience as one that brought "a lot of trauma for us to move through as a family, which also makes it hard to speak."
Justin Baldoni indicated that they had waited for the justice system to run its course before speaking publicly. "The truth and the facts have spoken for themselves. And here we are," Emily Baldoni added, with a laugh.
The couple stated that they are currently in a healing process, which they acknowledged is not linear. "We have had to rethink for ourselves what is real and what matters," Justin Baldoni said. He also expressed that he and Emily are "closer and more devoted and steadfast in our faith than we’ve ever been," crediting their family, friends, and community for support.
While they indicated there is "so much more to say," the Baldonis plan to focus on their healing, family, and enjoying life for the time being.
