John Stamos has firmly instructed "Dancing with the Stars" producers to cease inviting him to compete on the reality competition show.
During an appearance on "The Bobbycast" podcast with host Bobby Bones, Stamos explained that he has repeatedly declined offers to join the show. "I said, ‘Don’t ever ask me again.' I’m never gonna do that show," Stamos stated.
His reasoning centers on his aversion to the physical demands and potential for public embarrassment. "What makes that show good is people suffering and looking like fools," he said. "They’re breaking their feet, calluses. I don’t want that."
Bones, a past winner of "DWTS" with Sharna Burgess in 2018, reportedly attempted to persuade Stamos, suggesting he would learn a lot from participating, but was unsuccessful.
Stamos first publicly announced his decision in 2010 via Twitter. At the time, he wrote, "I’m not doing ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ Flattered to be asked. I’m not a dancer. I’d put my foot in my mouth faster than John Mayer."
Despite Stamos's firm stance, "DWTS" pro Karina Smirnoff had expressed belief in his potential as a dancer when the topic arose around 2010.
