The group chat for the cast of "Full House" has become noticeably subdued following the death of Bob Saget, according to actress Jodie Sweetin.
Sweetin, who portrayed Stephanie Tanner on the beloved ABC sitcom, told SheKnows in an interview published Tuesday that the cast's text thread has been "very quiet" since Saget passed away in January 2022.
"He was always one of the first to say happy birthday or the first to start planning something," Sweetin, 44, said. "It does break your heart when you get everybody together and there’s one person missing."
Saget, who played Danny Tanner, Sweetin's on-screen father, was found dead at age 65 in his Orlando, Florida, hotel room. Authorities later determined his cause of death was accidental blunt head trauma, which led to a brain bleed.
He starred alongside Candace Cameron Bure and twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who played his other daughters, D.J. and Michelle Tanner, respectively. The larger "Full House" cast, which also includes John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, and Dave Coulier, frequently remains in contact.
Sweetin mentioned that Saget remains a significant part of their ongoing conversations. "Every time we get together, there’s always a moment when we’re like, ‘Bob should be here,'" she shared. She added that she believes Saget would have appreciated knowing he is still a topic of conversation, stating he "loved the attention."
Following Saget's death, the "Full House" cast released a joint statement expressing their collective grief. "Thirty-five years ago, we came together as a TV family, but we became a real family," the statement read. "Bob made us laugh until we cried. Now our tears flow in sadness, but also with gratitude for all the beautiful memories of our sweet, kind, hilarious, cherished Bob. He was a brother to us guys, a father to us girls and a friend to all of us. Bob, we love you dearly. We ask in Bob’s honor, hug the people you love. No one gave better hugs than Bob."
Earlier this month, Sweetin reunited with Stamos, Loughlin, Coulier, and Andrea Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler, at The Nostalgia Con in Orlando, Florida. The gathering occurred six months after Coulier announced he had entered remission from tongue cancer. Stamos shared a TikTok video of the actors dancing backstage at the event, humorously captioning it, "Threw our necks out for this."
