Pop star Jessie J halted her performance at the Party in the Paddock festival in the UK over the weekend to address a fight that erupted in the crowd. After initial appeals for calm went unheeded, the singer instructed security to remove the individuals involved.
Footage shared online shows Jessie J initially addressing the concertgoers, stating, “Can everyone just try and stay quiet, because the louder it is, the worse it will be.” When the situation escalated, she directly addressed those fighting, saying, “This is alcohol and ego; just calm down.” She further implored them not to “waste time on bad energy. Especially hitting people? Come on now, in front of children, absolutely not.”
Observing that her attempts at de-escalation were not working, she stated, “They’re seeing red.” Following an audible expletive, which appeared to be the catalyst, Jessie J addressed festival security. "So many people have spent money on this show, to see me, so can you just get rid of them so we can carry on?" she asked, receiving cheers from the audience. She added, "Take them out, we don’t need them here. People have been waiting hours to see us. Just take them out. Get them an Uber, I’ll pay for it."
She requested the audience create a path for security to escort the disruptive patrons out quickly. Her parting advice to security was to “Give them a glass of water and some factor-70 [sunscreen]… they need it.”
In other recent personal news, Jessie J announced her split from partner Chanan Colman after five years. She shared the news on Instagram, stating that they had decided to end their romantic relationship “some time ago” and were focused on a positive co-parenting environment for their son. This announcement followed news two months prior that she was cancer-free, having been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2025 and undergoing a mastectomy.
