Jane Lynch opened up about a Glee reunion on the season premiere of Celebrity Weakest Link, which aired Monday at 9 p.m. on Fox. The former Sue Sylvester welcomed a slate of Gleeks: Chord Overstreet, Becca Tobin, Heather Morris, Dot-Marie Jones, Jenna Ushkowitz, Amber Riley, Max Adler and Alex Newell. Lynch told The Post she was thrilled and wore the familiar tracksuit again, noting that the original had been auctioned off years earlier and had to be recreated.

The episode capped the Fox network’s ongoing revival of The Weakest Link and followed Lynch’s prior run as host on NBC’s revival from 2020 to 2024. The original Fox series aired from 2009 to 2015 and produced more than 100 episodes. In discussing the reunion, Lynch reflected on how the Gleeks have fared since the show ended, noting Cory Monteith’s death in 2013 and the later Broadway and screen successes of Jonathan Groff, Lea Michele and Darren Criss. Heather Morris and Chord Overstreet have continued working in television and other projects. Lynch said the talent among the cast tends to rise to the top, adding that Becca Tobin has a thriving podcast, Lea Michele remains highly successful, and Darren Criss has found broad success.

Lynch said she stays in touch with Morris and Tobin and sees Overstreet and Dot-Marie Jones around, noting that Matt Morrison was not on Celebrity Weakest Link this time but remains a good friend. The ensemble’s post-Glee paths illustrate the show’s lasting impact: Monteith’s passing is a somber touchstone; Groff, Michele and Criss have pursued Broadway careers; Morrison has appeared on reality-based dance programs, among other credits. "The talent always rises to the top," Lynch said, and she emphasized that Becca Tobin has a strong podcast while the others have achieved notable success.

Lynch also teased episodes featuring Monica Potter, noting that the Parenthood actress appears in a future TV Moms installment. Potter looked spacey in early footage but proved razor sharp in rounds, Lynch said, explaining that Potter’s seemingly distracted demeanor only underscored her quick, correct responses. "Monica Potter is in the TV Moms episode, and she looks like she’s spacey and kind of out of it. She didn’t seem connected, but she was brilliant. I thought, ‘This is gonna be good because she’ll be funny,’ but there were a couple rounds where she answered every question correctly, that doesn’t happen." Lynch added that she keeps true to her host persona while recognizing the game show is played in good fun and that the cast doesn’t take anything personally.

In addition to hosting, Lynch has kept a foothold in contemporary TV through Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, where she played Sazz Pataki for several episodes before her on-screen arc concluded in Season 3. She recalled Steve Martin as the nicest man in the world, and Martin Short as equally kind. Lynch noted that the two have remained local friends she can dine with, which adds a personal dimension to working in New York. She summarized her approach to hosting as living in a character she enjoys, but emphasized that the job is all in good fun: “The gig is understood by everyone involved; nobody takes it personally.”
