Reports of marital discord between music producer Jack Antonoff and actress Margaret Qualley surfaced before news of their separation after less than three years of marriage. A source close to the couple told Page Six that "communication was definitely a challenge between him and Margaret."

According to the insider, Antonoff could be "very particular about how he liked things" and often preferred his own methods. The source added that Qualley "didn’t always feel like her perspective was being heard or given the same weight."

Reps for Antonoff and Qualley did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

A source confirmed the split to Page Six on Wednesday, with another source describing their relationship to People as "rocky" and noting they are "figuring things out."

The couple, who married in August 2023, first sparked split rumors when Antonoff attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding on July 3 without his wife. Antonoff was accompanied by his sister, Rachel, to the ceremony and its preceding rehearsal dinner.

Speculation about Qualley's absence from the wedding was fueled by rumors of her being busy filming. However, a source told TMZ that she had wrapped filming her movie "King Snake" in June and was not scheduled to begin her next project, "Possession," until later.

Antonoff was seen entering the wedding festivities with his hands in his pockets, leaving his wedding band status unclear at the time. However, he was seen wearing his ring on Wednesday, the same day news of the split broke.

Hints of trouble in paradise were seemingly present for months leading up to their split. In April, Qualley changed her Instagram handle from @isimostar, which referenced Antonoff’s song “Isimo,” to @sarahmargaretqualley23. Fans also noticed that Antonoff’s band, Bleachers, had removed the song “Margaret” from their tour setlist after June 13.

Further fueling the rumors, fans observed that Qualley had deleted photos of the couple from her Instagram account on Wednesday, removing nearly all traces of her husband. The only remaining image of Antonoff is one she posted in February of them laughing together. The couple still follows each other on the social media platform.

Antonoff and Qualley were last publicly seen together at the 2026 Grammy Awards in February.
