An iconic photograph of model Kate Moss with candyfloss-pink hair, taken by Juergen Teller in 1998, is set to be displayed in London. The image, titled "Young Pink Kate, London," will be featured in the upcoming exhibition "The 90s: Art And Fashion" at Tate Britain.
Moss dyed her hair pink for Versace's spring/summer 1999 show, and the resulting casual photograph has become a notable image from the era. The exhibition, which opens on October 8, aims to explore the profound cultural transition of the 1990s, a decade marked by significant political, technological, and social shifts that redefined art, fashion, and public image.
"The 90s: Art And Fashion" exhibition will run until February 14, 2027. The exhibition's curator, former Vogue editor Edward Enninful, noted that the decade was shaped by shifts that redefined how art and fashion operated within the public sphere.
