Dame Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan, stars of the crime drama 'MobLand,' shared a friendly embrace at the show's season two premiere afterparty on Thursday night. The cast reunited at the Odeon Luxe in London's Leicester Square to celebrate the return of the series, which airs on Paramount+.

Mirren, 81, and Brosnan, 73, who portray the central power couple Conrad and Maeve Harrigan in Guy Ritchie's thriller, showcased their on-screen and off-screen chemistry. Their characters' relationship and influence within the Harrigan family's criminal organization are reportedly facing significant strain in the new season.

Earlier in the evening, Mirren also posed with co-star Tom Hardy, 48, on the red carpet, appearing to quash reports of tension between the lead actor and production during filming. Hardy plays the role of Harry Da Souza, the fixer at the center of the Harrigan family's operations.

'MobLand' Season 2 and On-Set Dynamics

The premiere marks a public reunion for the 'MobLand' cast following reports of friction involving Hardy during the filming of season two. Some reports suggested creative differences between Hardy and producers, leading to speculation about his future on the show. However, it has been reported that Hardy and producers Jez Butterworth and David Glasser are working to resolve these issues, with plans for a potential season three shooting this autumn.

Mirren has publicly defended Hardy, stating that individuals should be "free to f*** up" and that she would work with him again. She emphasized the importance of allowing everyone the freedom to create and experiment, acknowledging that mistakes are part of the creative process.

"What you learn is every single person is different; every single person has their own way of doing things," Mirren told Radio Times. "There's not one way, there's a million different ways. What you want is what's on the screen, or what's on the stage, to be great. And the only way to do that is for everyone to feel that they can be free to create and explore and experiment and f*** up."

Mirren reprises her role alongside Hardy, Lara Pulver, Mandeep Dhillon, and Teddie Allen. She expressed her enjoyment of working in an ensemble format, which she finds well-suited to 'MobLand.'

The pair also posed for a group shot with their co-stars Tom, 48, Joanne Froggatt and Lara Pulver
