Helen Flanagan has revealed she is experiencing a period of uncertainty regarding her career and personal life as she navigates a significant transition following the sale of her family home. The 35-year-old actress, known for her role in Coronation Street, recently sold the Lancashire property she shared with ex-partner Scott Sinclair for £945,000, a price significantly lower than its initial £1.5 million listing.
In a reflective video shared on her Instagram Story, Flanagan spoke candidly about her feelings. "I don't know, I've just kind of felt like… I've not really been sure of myself recently," she stated. "I kind of feel like… I'm turning 36 in August, I've just done this house move, I'm kind of unsure where I am like career wise as well. There's a lot of change going on and I don't know, I've just felt a bit weird in myself."
Flanagan expressed frustration with her professional life, stating a strong desire to return to acting. "I've just felt frustrated with work as well because I really want to act and basically, I just want a job at the moment and feel frustrated in that way," she explained. She also mentioned a lack of creativity and anxiety associated with her social media work.
The actress is currently between homes, and her plans for a permanent residence remain undecided. "I'm in two minds about moving to London. I was going to buy here then I decided not to buy here so everything's just been a bit, like, all over the place," she commented.
Flanagan's family home, a spacious property described as a "beautifully presented detached family residence, offering over 5,000 sq. ft of luxurious living space," was put up for sale in May of the previous year. The property, which features six bedrooms and six bathrooms, was eventually purchased by a couple who manage a property company.
Following her split from Sinclair in 2022, the process of moving out of the family home, where she lived with their three children – Matilda, Delilah, and Charlie – began in May. During the move, Flanagan shared on Instagram that she was struggling with the heatwave, posting a clip of herself in gym gear with the caption: "Moving house in a heatwave."
In a farewell post to the house, Flanagan shared a video with her children, referring to their unit as "just us 4" and emphasizing the importance of morals, integrity, and authenticity. She stated, "My relationships with all 3 of them will always be my priority and always will be to my last breath."
Reports have also suggested a period of acrimony between Flanagan and Sinclair regarding household items, including a sofa that Flanagan had reupholstered. According to a source, conversations about the move and possessions were largely conducted via email due to the strained relationship.
