Harry Styles playfully teased his audience about body odor during the second night of his 30-date residency at New York's Madison Square Garden. The singer, 32, made the quip as he led fans in a breathing exercise on August 29, prompting giggles from the crowd.

"Smell those New York City armpits!" Styles exclaimed, according to a clip shared on TikTok. Dressed in a mustard sweater, black blazer, and yellow trousers, he then encouraged the audience to "dance today and tonight we're gonna sing together, we're gonna share this moment together."

Fans reacted to the comment online, with some expressing surprise and others finding it humorous. Some recalled similar instances during his Los Angeles shows, where he reportedly distributed deodorant.

This New York residency, comprising 30 shows, marks Styles' only U.S. performances for the year. The run at the 20,000-capacity venue began on August 26 and is scheduled to conclude on October 31. Musician and DJ Jamie xx is serving as the support act.

Styles is currently on a global tour supporting his fourth studio album, "Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally." His previous residency at London's Wembley Stadium, featuring 12 nights, set a record for the longest residency by a solo artist at the venue. He was joined there by country music legend Shania Twain.

Earlier in the week, on the first night of his Madison Square Garden residency, Styles paid tribute to the late Dolly Parton. Following news of the country singer's death at age 80, Styles paused to honor her, telling the audience, "I just want to say thank you to all the musicians over the years that have inspired me. Dolly thank you so much." His band then performed Parton's song "I Will Always Love You."
