Halle Berry is embracing her upcoming 60th birthday with a rejuvenating trip to Fiji. The actress, who is set to celebrate the milestone on August 14, shared a series of photos from her tropical getaway, showcasing moments of relaxation and scenic beauty.
In one post, Berry was pictured on a beach at sunset, wearing an animal-print cover-up over a black lace lingerie bodysuit. She captioned the moment, "The only bad thing about this trip is that each day must come to an end." Another image captured her in silhouette beneath sheer fabric draped around an outdoor daybed, with the ocean and palm trees in the background.
Further snapshots showed Berry lounging by a poolside in a gold bikini, accessorized with a wide-brimmed straw hat, and an artful reflection of her relaxing in a bathtub with ocean views visible through a glass window.
The vacation comes as Berry has been vocal about her positive outlook on aging. In a recent appearance on Hoda Kotb’s "Making Space" podcast, she described her perspective on turning 60.
"I feel really great actually, if I’m honest, I feel, I think, better than I have in a very, very long time," Berry stated. "I feel more of myself. I feel all of myself."
She also discussed shedding the pressure of managing others' expectations as she's gotten older. "You do stop managing everybody's expectations," she told Kotb. "You get to be who you wanna be, say what you want to say... you’re no longer walking on eggshells, and that’s a really wonderful place to arrive."
Berry also addressed the notion that women should step away from their careers after a certain age, asserting her intention to continue working. "Why should I now sit down and give that all away and then what?" she questioned, emphasizing the purpose and fulfillment that her career provides.
She shared advice for her daughter, Nahla, encouraging her to pursue work she loves to maintain a sense of purpose and vitality throughout life. "Choose what you love so that you never feel like you want to retire, because working and being active and contributing is what keeps us young as we go down the path of life," Berry said.
