Georgina Grasso, a former winner of The Great British Bake Off, has announced she has been diagnosed with bipolar 2 disorder and autism. Grasso, who previously spoke about having attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) during her time on the show, shared the new diagnosis in an Instagram post on Monday, describing it as a "shock."

She revealed that her doctor had suggested a potential misdiagnosis as early as last year, but she had initially dismissed the idea. "I'm not sure who I am right now, and scared to be judged even more so," Grasso stated in her post. Despite the shock, she also expressed that the diagnosis has brought her "a bit of relief" as many aspects of her life now make sense.

Grasso, the first Welsh champion of the Bake Off, had openly discussed living with ADHD while competing. She had embraced her role as an advocate for the condition but admitted it was sometimes overwhelming. Following her recent diagnosis, she is taking time to understand bipolar disorder and expressed that she needs her fans "now more than ever."

While the diagnosis has provided some clarity, Grasso also shared concerns about her ability to manage her workload. The former Bake Off winner has been a vocal advocate for mental health awareness, and her openness about her personal journey continues to resonate with the public, who had offered her "incredible" support when she previously spoke about ADHD.
