Actress Glenn Close, 79, shared her surprising anti-aging secret: Frownies Facial Patches. The star revealed her reliance on the long-standing beauty product at the recent New York premiere of "All's Fair" Season 2, telling Page Six Style that the patches are an effective wrinkle-fighting tool.

"It's been around forever," Close said of the product, which was first invented in 1899. "Gloria Swanson wears a Frownie in 'Sunset Boulevard.' It's a little piece of paper… to keep you from frowning when you're sleeping."

Frownies are non-invasive stickers designed to be worn overnight. They come in two varieties: one for the forehead and another for the corners of the eyes and mouth, aimed at smoothing fine lines. Close described the process as simply applying the patch before sleep, though she humorously added, "Of course, you frown when you wake up — but at least you don’t frown when you’re sleeping!"

Close recently showcased the product in an Instagram video, explaining its use for smoothing lines while working at her desk. This endorsement highlights the product's enduring appeal, with a history that extends back to the early 20th century when the Frownies website states the founder's daughters promoted them to performers and stars.

Notable figures throughout history have reportedly used Frownies. Dixie Dunbar was photographed wearing them for Life magazine in 1937, and Raquel Welch mentioned them in her 2010 memoir. Even the Kardashian-Jenners have been associated with the patches, with reports from 2011 indicating that Kris Jenner believed Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé used them.
