Actress Genevieve Chenneour, known for her role as Clara Livingston in the Netflix series "Bridgerton," has spoken about a recent romantic encounter during a trip to Mykonos. Chenneour described the experience with another woman as a "sizzling holiday romance" that has "changed my understanding of sex."

The 28-year-old actress admitted the experience was unplanned but reflected on a lifelong contemplation of same-sex relationships, having had prior experiences kissing women. She elaborated in an online post that this particular encounter was different and profoundly impacted her view of sexuality, characterizing it as "sex with kindness."

Chenneour expressed that the experience allowed her to understand the joy in bringing another person pleasure and found it empowering to evoke such feelings in a woman. Despite the significance of this romance, she stated that she feels "no need to define my sexuality."

This personal revelation follows a period of significant personal challenge for Chenneour. Approximately a year prior, she was involved in an incident where she confronted a mobile phone thief at a cafe in west London. During the altercation, she bravely fought off the thief, Zacariah Boulares, 18, who was later sentenced to 22 months for theft and assault. A second individual present during the attack threatened Chenneour with a knife. Scotland Yard investigated a 19-year-old in connection with the incident but took no further action.

Chenneour, a former Team GB artistic swimmer before pursuing acting, subsequently moved back in with her mother, citing safety concerns in London. She revealed that not knowing the identity of the second man involved continued to cause her distress, and she felt unable to rely on public transport due to severe agoraphobia. She has since opted to live outside the capital, often staying in hotels when work requires her to return.

In November of the previous year, Chenneour shared another incident where she was assaulted in central London. While walking near Oxford Circus shortly before an audition, a man targeted and hit her without warning. Describing the attacker as approximately 50 years old, 6ft 3in, Black, and wearing dark clothing, she reported experiencing panic attacks and significant distress following the unprovoked assault. This event triggered renewed anxiety, especially given her prior experiences, and impacted her confidence in navigating the city.
