Gemma Owen, a former contestant on the reality show 'Love Island,' has announced her separation from boyfriend Red Morgan. Owen, 23, revealed that the couple decided to end their relationship this summer, realizing they "wanted different things" out of their romance after more than a year together.

The split occurred within days of the unexpected death of a close family friend, a period Owen described as "a pretty hard few weeks, months." She shared these personal updates in a YouTube vlog.

Owen stated that there was no animosity between her and Morgan, 22, and that the decision was mutual. "We didn't want to waste anyone's time if we weren't both sort of aligned with what we want," she explained. She added that she has been taking time for herself, spending time with family and friends, and engaging in activities like training.

Owen and Morgan, a British showjumper and heir to a property fortune, first made their relationship public in April 2025. They met through shared equestrian circles, as both have backgrounds in competitive horse riding. Morgan is the son of property tycoon Steve Morgan, founder of the housebuilding company Redrow.

This relationship was Owen's most prominent public romance since her previous public split from fellow 'Love Island' contestant Luca Bish in November 2022, shortly after they left the ITV2 villa.

Owen is currently featured with her family in the Prime Video docuseries 'Meet The Owens.' The series follows her father, former England footballer Michael Owen, his wife, and their four children. A significant storyline in the series centers on Gemma Owen's transition from dressage to race riding, with her participation in the Markel Magnolia Cup charity race in July.
