Gemma Collins has announced a temporary break from social media, stating she will be stepping away from Instagram until September. The former star of "The Only Way Is Essex" shared the news on Tuesday, posting an image of herself in a Grecian-inspired outfit.
During her break, any posts on her social media accounts will be managed by her team. Collins plans to return in September to promote her new docu-series for Sky TV, which she has been working on for over a year. She expressed excitement for her followers to see what has kept her busy.
"This really is the most important year of my life, and for the first time people will get to see the Gemma behind the GC," Collins stated. "Over the next year I will be planning my wedding and beginning the steps into starting a family. I've always felt natural in front of the cameras, but now I want to let the world see the real raw me sharing the most intimate and personal times in my life."
The upcoming eight-part series, titled "Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby," will document her journey toward starting a family and her wedding to fiancé Rami Hawash. Collins has been open about her desire for children in the past. She and Hawash first began their relationship in 2011, became engaged two years later, separated, and then rekindled their romance in 2020.
Collins, who rose to fame on the reality show "TOWIE" in 2011, has a long history in reality television. Her previous television appearances include "Splash!," "I'm a Celebrity," "Celebrity Big Brother," "Celebs Go Dating," "Celebrity MasterChef," and "Dancing On Ice." She also starred in her own documentary "Gemma Collins: Self-Harm & Me" in 2022 and the "Diva" series from 2018 to 2020.
