Fox News announced a series of weekend lineup changes Wednesday that include a new Washington-based program hosted alternately by senior White House correspondents Jacqui Heinrich and Peter Doocy.

The new hourlong show, The Sunday Briefing, will debut Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. ET and will replace MediaBuzz, which has been hosted by Howie Kurtz. Kurtz will transition from host to a political media analyst role. The network also said that Outnumbered co-host Kayleigh McEnany will launch a two-hour Saturday program, Saturday in America, beginning Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. ET.

Fox said Heinrich and Doocy will rotate as solo hosts of The Sunday Briefing, which will air live from Washington and cover the president's national and international moves and other items on the White House agenda. Both were promoted in June to senior White House correspondent positions; Heinrich joined Fox News in 2018 and Doocy in 2009.

Other weekend shifts announced by the network include Griff Jenkins, an occasional co-host on Fox & Friends Weekend, joining full time as a host alongside Rachel Campos-Duffy and Charlie Hurt. The Big Weekend Show will expand to three hours with Johnny Joey Jones and Tomi Lahren as co-hosts; the program previously used four rotating co-hosts and will now feature Jones and Lahren plus two revolving panelists.

Heinrich, 36, and Doocy, 38, have both drawn attention for their questioning of political figures. Doocy is known for regular exchanges with the White House press office during the Biden administration; he is the son of longtime Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy, who earlier this year said he would reduce his role at the network. Heinrich has been noted for probing questions toward administration officials and drew criticism from former President Donald Trump after a guest-host appearance on Fox & Friends in which she questioned the appropriateness of a display of cars at the White House. In March, Trump said on Truth Social that Heinrich "was absolutely terrible" and suggested she should work for another network.

Fox described the lineup changes as a reshuffling intended to spotlight its White House coverage on weekends and expand opinion and news programming across the weekend schedule. MediaBuzz, Kurtz's program since 2013, had examined media coverage and the business of journalism; the network said Kurtz will continue at Fox in his new analyst role.

The shifts come as cable news outlets periodically retool weekend programming to reflect both personnel changes and evolving audience habits. Fox's announced start dates for the new and adjusted weekend programs are Sept. 20 for Saturday in America and Sept. 21 for The Sunday Briefing; times and formats were included in the network's release.

The network said the new shows will tackle all facets of the White House beat and related policy issues. No further scheduling changes were announced in the statement accompanying the lineup update.
