Sam Battle, the musician behind the electronic pop song "Eins, Zwei, Drei," has found that representing the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest, despite a low score, has brought unexpected recognition and positive interactions.
Battle, performing under the stage name Look Mum No Computer, described the Eurovision experience as a rapid blur. "It just happened so quick," he said. "I didn't even realise. I was just like, 'oh, I'm jumping on tables, don't fall off the table, Sam, sing'."
Despite finishing at the bottom of the scoreboard, Battle stated that many viewers enjoyed his performance. He recounted instances where people, including schoolchildren, have approached him to say he was "awesome." "It's nice to know that I've made people smile," he added. He is scheduled to perform on Sunday at the Ramsgate Festival of Sound at the Granville Theatre, where "Eins, Zwei, Drei" is expected to be included in his set.
