LOS ANGELES — Actor Emily Osment is legally divorced and single after a judge dissolved her marriage to musician Jack Anthony Farina, with the order taking effect Monday following a mandatory six-month waiting period.
Osment filed a petition for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court in March. The couple, who married in October, separated less than two months after their wedding and cited irreconcilable differences. The pair had been married for under five months and have no children.
The dissolution follows California's statutory six-month waiting period between the filing of a petition for dissolution of marriage and the entry of a final judgment. Court records show the order became effective after that period elapsed.
Osment, 33, is the younger sister of actor Haley Joel Osment. She first gained public recognition for her role on the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana" from 2006 to 2011. She later appeared in the sitcoms "Young & Hungry" and "Young Sheldon" and is listed as appearing on the "Young Sheldon" spinoff "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage." Farina is described in court documents as a musician.
The marriage was Osment's first. Public filings do not list any requests for spousal support or other contested financial matters. The couple did not have any children together.
No public statements from Osment or Farina about the dissolution have been included in court records. The finalization of the divorce closes a brief marriage that ended months before the formal termination was entered by a judge.
