Comedian Ellie Taylor is reportedly in line to become the new host of "Strictly: It Takes Two," the companion show to the BBC's flagship dance competition "Strictly Come Dancing." The news follows reports of a substantial revamp for the series, which includes the departures of hosts Fleur East and Janette Manrara.

Taylor, 42, previously competed on "Strictly Come Dancing" in 2022, partnered with professional dancer Johannes Radebe. Her appearance on the show was reportedly popular with both viewers and the production team. A source cited in reports suggested that Taylor was considered for the main show's hosting roles but remained a candidate for "It Takes Two," which is said to require a significant refresh. \n

The reported hosting change is part of a broader overhaul for the upcoming series. Earlier this year, it was announced that main presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman would be succeeded by Emma Willis and Josh Widdicombe. The spin-off show, "It Takes Two," has historically provided behind-the-scenes access and interviews with celebrity contestants and professional dancers.

In addition to the hosting changes, "Strictly Come Dancing" is also welcoming five new professional dancers. These new additions include Aleksandra Isaeva, Cristian Priori, Lethabo Monametsi, Maddie Ingoldsby, and Mark Karmalita. The BBC confirmed these new professionals will join the upcoming September series.

Returning professional dancers for the new season include Alexis Warr, Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Carlos Gu, Dianne Buswell, Jowita Przystal, Julian Caillon, Kai Widdrington, Katya Jones, Lauren Oakley, Nancy Xu, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, and Vito Coppola. Several professional dancers, including Nadiya Bychkova, Karen Hauer, Michelle Tsiakkas, Luba Mushtuk, and Gorka Marquez, were reportedly not retained for the upcoming season.

Reports suggest that the selection of professional dancers may be influenced by social media presence, with an aim to attract a younger audience. For instance, Dianne Buswell, who has a large following, remains in the lineup, while Nadiya Bychkova, with a smaller following, was reportedly let go.

Representatives for Ellie Taylor and the BBC have been contacted for comment. The new series of "Strictly Come Dancing" is scheduled to return in September.
