Ella Langley Ties CMA Nomination Record, Credits Faith

Country music artist Ella Langley has received nine nominations for the 60th CMA Awards, tying the record for the most nominations by a female artist in a single year. Langley shared her gratitude for the milestone during a recent concert in New Jersey.

"God has been so good to me, has been just so, so good to me," Langley told the crowd. "I’m just a poor girl from a small town with a big dream. Pretty cliche, I know, but it’s true. I’ve done countless things. Ridiculous, dumb things in my life. I don’t feel like I always deserve it, but I am so grateful that I’ve been given the opportunity to stand up here and sing songs that I love."

She continued, "I get to write songs that mean something to me, and then I get to watch a crowd of people that means something to them. It means something to you. So, thank you. Thank you for listening."

This is not the first time Langley has spoken about her faith publicly. In a previous performance, she shared, "You are good enough today. The fact that you woke up this morning made you good enough for today. The fact that we have a God that loves us is why you are good enough today. You will always be good enough. You will always be good enough. We’ll always fall short but always be good enough for that kind of love. I hope today that if you heard anything from me in this set tonight, I want you to feel that kind of love. Because there’s no one else in this world that can give it to you the way that our Lord and Savior can. That type of love."

Langley's nominations mark a significant achievement in her burgeoning career. The CMA Awards are scheduled to be presented on Nov. 18.
