Denise Welch is enjoying a relaxing break in Malibu after celebrating her son Matty Healy's recent wedding. The 68-year-old actress shared a photo of herself lounging in a black swimsuit in California, describing the wedding celebrations as the "happiest time of her life."
Welch and her husband, Lincoln Townley, 53, who are primarily based in the UK, spend time in California with Healy and his new wife, American model Gabbriette Bechtel, 28. The couple married in a ceremony held at Castillo del Lago, a former Madonna residence, on Saturday, July 18.
The actress shared a collection of behind-the-scenes images from the wedding festivities, which she referred to as "magical, beautiful few days." She posted pictures with her new daughter-in-law, Gabbriette, and pop star Charli XCX. Welch wore an off-the-shoulder dusty pink dress to the ceremony, while Gabbriette donned a white suit adorned with feathers and a bridal top hat. Welch also shared photos with Gabbriette's mother, Chayo, and sister, Marcella, all wearing "Gabbrietty" T-shirts featuring images of the newlyweds.
"To see my eldest son marry the most beautiful, funny, crazy girl under the Hollywood sign was a night I'll never forget. They are made for each other," Welch wrote in a tribute post. She also expressed her love for her daughter-in-law and their extended family, adding, "We love our daughter in law and our new family."
Welch also posted images of herself celebrating with Matty's younger brother, Louis, 25, her husband, and Coronation Street co-star Sally Dynevor. She indicated that she would share more content from the celebrations, stating, "I'll need to do a million reels to capture the fun we all had."
Matty Healy, 37, frontman of the band The 1975, was previously in a widely publicized relationship with Taylor Swift in 2023. The wedding ceremony was attended by celebrity guests including Charli XCX, Emily Ratajkowski, and Alex Consani, as well as Healy's bandmates.
