Demi Moore has made a surprise return to the music video scene, appearing in the newly released video for "Animal," the latest single from the global girl group KATSEYE. The 63-year-old actress features in a scene where she acts as a stylist for the members backstage before a performance, delivering the line, "Alright, let's get wild!" This marks Moore's first music video appearance since Bon Jovi's "Ugly" in 1997.

Despite Moore's prominent role, a significant portion of KATSEYE's young fanbase did not recognize the veteran actress. Social media comments reflected this generational divide, with some fans expressing bewilderment that the cameo was not generating more discussion. "You know you're old and in different generation when you check the comments and almost nobody gives a damn about a Demi Moore cameo. I was like, 'Whoa, that's THE Demi Moore!'" one user wrote. Others acknowledged her enduring beauty, with one fan recalling her appearance in the film "Ghost."

KATSEYE, promoted as the world's first global girl group, comprises members from the Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland, and the United States. The group gained prominence in 2024 after forming on the reality competition show "The Debut: Dream Academy," a collaboration between South Korean label Hybe and American label Geffen Records. The current members are Daniela Avanzini, 21; Yoonchae Jeung, 18; Sophia Laforteza, 23; Lara Raj, 20; and Megan Skiendiel, 20. A sixth member, Manon Bannerman, has been on an extended hiatus.

The group has achieved notable success in 2024, performing at the Grammy Awards in February where they received nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. They also performed at Coachella in April, delivering the most-streamed performance of the festival's first weekend. In May, KATSEYE took home three awards at the American Music Awards, including New Artist of the Year, following a performance of their hit "Pinky Up."

"Pinky Up," their first single without Bannerman, reached No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the longest-charting song from a female group on the chart this year. Their subsequent single, "Iconic By Mistake," debuted at No. 38 on the Hot 100.

KATSEYE is scheduled to release their upcoming EP, "Wild," on August 14, which has already become one of Spotify's most pre-saved albums. Additionally, a documentary film, "Katseye: Wild Hearts," is set for limited theatrical release two days prior, promising unseen footage and exploring the group's connection with their fans. The group is also slated to perform at Olivia Rodrigo's all-female Daisy Chain Fields music festival.

Moore's appearance in "Animal" could introduce her to a new audience, given KATSEYE's growing popularity. The actress has not appeared in a music video since the late 1990s, and her role in "Animal" marks a significant return to the music video format after a three-decade absence.
