Davina McCall drew attention on the National Television Awards red carpet on Wednesday, arriving in a sparkly light-gold mini dress and pausing to pose for selfies and playful photos with fans ahead of the live ceremony at London's O2 Arena.

The 57-year-old presenter wore a £2,250 Annie Ibiza mini gown with a high neckline, structured shoulders, glittering embellishment and an A-line skirt, showing off tanned legs and black leather stiletto boots. She carried a small black clutch and accessorised with multiple earrings, rings and a gold-toned bracelet. McCall appeared in high spirits as she larked about with attendees before the main event, and her boyfriend Michael Douglas also attended, wearing a black blazer with lightning bolt embroidery and black denim jeans.

The National Television Awards (NTAs), now in their 30th year, are voted for by the British public and recognise programmes and performers across drama, entertainment, factual and other categories. Red-carpet arrivals were hosted for a second year in a row by Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks. The ceremony, broadcast live on ITV2, will hand out awards interspersed with entertainment performances and is scheduled to run until late evening.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly remain strong contenders in the TV Presenter category, with the Geordie duo widely expected to secure another win following a long history of success at the NTAs. They and their ITV series I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! were among the nominees in multiple categories, including Reality Competition and Best Reality TV, where the long-running jungle show faces rivals such as Love Island, Race Across the World and The Traitors.

Drama categories this year reflect a busy season for British and international television. Netflix's Adolescence — noted by some critics for Owen Cooper's portrayal of Jamie Miller — is among the nominees in the Best Drama and Drama Performance categories, alongside titles including Code of Silence, Ludwig, MobLand and Rivals. Serial drama nominations include long-standing soaps Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Casualty, EastEnders and Hollyoaks, with Coronation Street and Emmerdale having reported increased viewership after episodes were made available on ITVX.

Comedy and entertainment categories likewise feature established and returning favourites. Gavin & Stacey was on the shortlist following its long-awaited final episode last Christmas, and nominees in other comedy and entertainment categories include Brassic, Michael McIntyre's 25th Year Stand-Up Special and Mrs Brown's Boys. Daytime television nominations featured shows such as This Morning, Loose Women and Scam Interceptors.

Organisers note that the NTAs were established in 1995 to give the public a greater voice in recognising television talent, moving away from awards determined solely by industry professionals. Voting has been open via post, telephone and online, and this year's ceremony aims to reflect public choices across a range of genres.

McCall's appearance was one of several high-profile arrivals on the red carpet as the industry gathered for the milestone occasion. Winners will be revealed during the televised ceremony later on Wednesday evening.
