Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez exchanged vows in a private ceremony at their home in Cascais, Portugal, on August 11, choosing an intimate setting over a grand affair. Rodríguez told Vogue that the decision was a desire for something "unusual," contrasting with their daily access to luxuries like castles and houses.

"In 30 years’ time I want the children to think, ‘Something wonderful happened at this table — the wedding vows of our parents,’" Rodríguez shared, emphasizing the importance of the moment for their five children: twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 9, daughter Alana, 8, daughter Bella, 4, and 16-year-old son Cristiano Jr.

The couple, who first met in 2017 when Rodríguez was a sales assistant at a Gucci store, were dressed by the fashion house for their ceremony. Gucci's artistic director, Demna, noted the romance in dressing the couple, calling it a "beautiful circle closing, almost like a modern fairy tale."

Ronaldo, the 41-year-old Portuguese soccer legend, and Rodríguez announced their marriage via a joint Instagram post featuring their gold wedding bands, captioned "C❤️G" by Ronaldo.

Rodríguez described the ceremony as "exactly as I’d imagined it. Intimate, full of love, and with our family in the most important starring role. I couldn’t hold back the tears."

While the couple has achieved significant milestones in their careers and personal lives, including the birth of their children, they also experienced the loss of their newborn son, Ángel, a twin to Bella, in April 2022.

Ronaldo, who recently played in his final World Cup, is planning for his post-football career. He told outlets that he has "so many things to keep me busy" after retiring from the sport, including travel and playing padel. The couple was recently seen at a Saudi Pro League football match, with Rodríguez hinting at the possibility of more children in the future, though she noted that another baby now would be "overbooking."
