Christopher Nicks, the younger brother of Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks, has died at the age of 72 following a private battle with cancer. His daughter, Nixi Parkinson Nicks, announced his passing on Facebook, stating that he died surrounded by his family.

"Some of you may know that he has spent the last 2.5 years battling a cancer diagnosis, and to some this may come as a shock," Nixi wrote, explaining that her father had kept his illness private to avoid worrying others. She described her father as someone who left a significant mark on many people and that his loss would be deeply felt by his family and his close circle of friends, whom he referred to as his "lost boys."

Nixi shared her grief on social media, posting a photo of herself holding her father's hand with the caption, "Second star to the right, and straight on till morning. I love you, daddy. Rest easy."

Christopher's ex-wife, Lori Perry-Nicks, and Nixi's mother, also expressed her sorrow. "We will all miss him, in so many ways," she wrote in the comments. "He was an anomaly … And they certainly broke the mold when they created him. There will never be another one like him … I miss you already."

While Stevie Nicks has not yet publicly commented on her brother's death, Fleetwood Mac bandmate Mick Fleetwood shared a tribute on Instagram. "The passing of Chris Nicks has brought so many memories of his amazing life," Fleetwood wrote. "Much of course was shared connected to Fleetwood Mac. His zest for life will be a forever beacon of inspiration!! Chris you will be missed by me and I know the Family of Fleetwood Mac."
