Charli XCX has released the music video for her new single "Wink Wink," the third track from her upcoming seventh album, "Music, Fashion, Film." The video, which dropped Thursday, showcases the 33-year-old artist in a series of provocative scenes.
The release of the new music video follows social media teasers from XCX, including an Instagram post where she hinted at "something horny is coming." She shared a photo of herself in a pink satin bra and sheer polka dot skirt.
Despite the provocative nature of her new music and visuals, XCX has spoken about her current mental state, describing it as "the worst place mentally that I've been in my life." She attributes this to the intensity of her recent "Brat" album success and tour. To manage her anxiety and protect her mental health, XCX has been reducing her social media presence and cutting back on interviews, noting that the online discourse can be overwhelming. She mentioned that her emotions have been particularly volatile.
Beyond music, XCX is also expanding her acting career, having recently appeared in the indie film "Erupcja." She promoted three films at the Sundance Film Festival in January, including her mockumentary "The Moment." Upcoming acting roles include a part in Dakota Johnson's directorial debut "A Tree Is Blue" and a remake of the 1978 film "Faces of Death."
