Channing Tatum attended the Los Angeles premiere of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – Infinity Castle on Tuesday evening with his 12-year-old daughter, Everly, in a rare joint red carpet appearance.

The pair posed for photographs at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre; Everly wore a ruffled blue gown with matching heels, loose waves and hoop earrings, while Tatum suited in navy. Tatum, 45, said he earned “cool dad points” by voicing the character Keizo in the film, which is scheduled to open Friday.

Tatum and Everly made a similar appearance at last year’s Demon Slayer premiere, when she wore a costume inspired by the character Shinobu Kocho. The actor, who co-parents Everly with ex-wife Jenna Dewan, told People that taking part in the animated project had been a special moment for him and his daughter.

He has spoken publicly in recent weeks about the end of his marriage to Dewan. In an interview with Variety earlier this month, Tatum described the split as a “painful demise” and said the couple “tried to keep it together, tried for a year and a half,” before stopping short of discussing the details. He added that not having his daughter half the time was difficult and that he wished he could have her “all the time.”

In earlier interviews, Tatum has credited his divorce with prompting personal growth. In 2023 he told Vanity Fair that the breakup was “exactly what [he] needed” as a father, saying he had focused on Everly and become “best friends” with her. Tatum and Dewan, who divorced in 2018, continue to share custody.

Both parents have moved on romantically. Tatum was publicly linked on and off with singer Jessie J, proposed to actress Zoë Kravitz before calling off that engagement in 2024, and is now dating Inka Williams. Dewan has been engaged to actor Steve Kazee since 2020; they have two children together, a son, Callum, 5, and a daughter, Rhiannon, 1.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – Infinity Castle is a continuation of the popular anime franchise and its U.S. distributor is Aniplex of America in partnership with Crunchyroll. Tatum’s participation as a voice actor aligns with a growing number of high-profile performers joining English dubs of internationally produced animated features.

Tatum’s red carpet appearance with Everly attracted attention both for the father-daughter pairing and for the actor’s comments about balancing work and family life following the end of his marriage. The film’s release on Friday will mark another public moment for the franchise and for Tatum’s evolving role as a parent and performer.
