Cat Deeley was photographed wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger while attending the National Television Awards at London's O2 Arena, weeks after she and husband Patrick Kielty announced their separation.

The 48-year-old presenter arrived on the red carpet on Wednesday alongside her This Morning colleagues and posed for photographs wearing an emerald, one-shoulder floor-length gown. The ring was visible on her left hand as she smiled for photographers and stopped for selfies with fans.

Deeley and Kielty, 54, announced the end of their marriage in July in a joint statement that said: "We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved. We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment." The couple share two sons.

Photographs of Deeley at the awards followed earlier images in which she had been seen with her wedding ring removed or moved to her right hand, choices some commentators interpreted as symbolic of a new life chapter. On the NTAs carpet she coordinated with co-host Ben Shephard, who wore a dark green velvet dinner jacket; This Morning is nominated for Best Daytime Programme at the ceremony.

Kielty has made a handful of public appearances since the separation was announced. Last month he was photographed buying a bottle of red wine near the couple's London home, and he returned to presenting duties on BBC Radio 5 Live, where he made light-hearted remarks on air about recent broadcasting changes and the show's production team.

Members of Kielty's family have publicly expressed anger at Deeley for not attending his mother's funeral in March, saying her absence confirmed to them that reconciliation was unlikely. The family said the "no show" left "deep emotional scars." Those remarks reflect private family feelings and were made after the couple's separation was disclosed.

The National Television Awards, now in their 30th year, are staged at the O2 and televised live on ITV. The ceremony honours programs and performers chosen by public vote; winners are selected from categories ranging from drama and reality programming to entertainment and presenting. Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are widely expected to extend a long run of success in the TV Presenter category, where they are nominated alongside Claudia Winkleman, Gary Lineker, Alison Hammond and Stacey Solomon.

This year's nominations reflect a strong year for television drama and reality programming. Netflix's Adolescence, which drew critical attention for its depiction of a troubled character, is among the contenders in the Best Drama category, alongside titles such as Code of Silence, Ludwig, MobLand and Rivals. Ant and Dec's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! is also in contention for Reality TV.

Organisers said the NTAs were established in 1995 to give viewers a direct voice in recognising television talent, a process that has used post, telephone and online voting. Presenters Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks hosted the red-carpet arrivals for a second consecutive year.

Deeley and Kielty have asked for privacy as they navigate the end of their marriage. The NTAs continued through the evening with awards presented amid live performances and on-stage tributes, and the ceremony is scheduled to run until 10:30 p.m. on ITV.
